Combustion

The development and application of subgrid-scale (SGS) turbulent combustion models is the focus here to enable more accurate and efficient simulations of combustion in order to improve efficiency and reduce pollutant emissions from internal combustion and gas turbine engines.  Current focus is on the SGS probability density function (PDF) method considering both the stochastic Lagrangian particle approach and the stochastic Eulerian field approach.
